1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the PageScan website and its browser-based scanner.
2. Video, photo and PDF processing
The current version of PageScan is designed to process selected videos and photos, extracted page images and in-progress PDFs inside your browser. PageScan does not currently provide an account-based storage service that uploads these source working files to its own storage backend.
3. Hosting and connection logs
CDN, hosting and security providers may process ordinary connection information such as IP address, request time, browser/device information and requested URL to deliver the site, troubleshoot failures and prevent abuse.
4. Cookies and Google advertising
If advertising is enabled, PageScan may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings. If other third-party ad networks are used in the future, this policy will be updated with the relevant providers and choices.
5. Consent in European regions
When advertising is served in the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland or another region that requires consent management, PageScan intends to use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) as required by applicable Google policies and law.
6. Analytics and accounts
PageScan currently does not use a PageScan account system, its own cloud document storage, or a behavioral analytics product. If those features are added, this policy will be updated with purposes, data categories, retention and third-party disclosures.
7. External links
Once you leave PageScan for an external service, that service's own privacy policy applies.
8. Children
PageScan is not an account-based service designed to intentionally collect personal information from children. If advertising or analytics are added, applicable age and consent requirements will be addressed separately.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the service architecture, advertising or analytics features change. The update date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
